Pop-up Classes

Pop-Up Classes are one-time classes that are not normally on the class schedule. These give students a chance to try out something different: new style, new teacher, new level. They are just fun!

Pop-Ups are included in all studio memberships and class cards, there is no additional fee.

We’re TEAMING UP for Asheville!

Community Class:Embrace the Release: Gentle Full Moon Yoga & Sound with Annie Geile and Betty Green

Friday, November 15th: 6:00pm - 7:15pm

The November Full Moon is sometimes referred to as the "Mourning Moon", the last moon before the winter solstice. The Mourning Moon is the perfect time to let go of old, unnecessary things, while giving yourself permission to mourn their passing. We'll use meditation, breath work, and gentle yoga to help us self-reflect and release what no longer serves in order to make space for a lighter, happier you as the year comes to a close.

Community Class: Gentle Yoga & Yoga Nidra with Marianna Boyle and Chrissy Brockland

Sunday, November 17th: 5:00pm - 6:00pm

This practice will begin with gentle movements and stretches to clear your mind and release any tension or holding in your physical body. These gentle movements will prepare you for the deeply relaxing and restorative practice of Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra translates to yogic sleep, and this guided meditation technique takes you through the various layers of the body, energy body, mind, and emotional body to help release tension and induce a deep state of relaxation.

The entire Yoga Nidra meditation is done in a reclined and supported Savasana position. Wear comfy clothes, and bring an extra blanket or two!

Silent Night with Annie Geile

Friday, December 6th: 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Join Annie in an almost completely silent practice.

There is so much power in a silent practice. Use this silent time to surrender. Take a break from over stimulation with a quiet contemplative practice. Spending time in silence can challenge us as well as free us. You’ll definitely leave this practice with a feeling of peace.

What to expect: You’ll begin silence at the door. We ask that all students remain silent in the space before and after class as well as during. You’ll find your mat space in the Moon Room where you’ll find short written instructions to help you understand how to move through the practice. Annie will guide a very simply-led, reflective, and quiet yoga flow. This class will be almost completely silent, minimally cued, led mainly by demonstration and soft bells for transitioning. A silent practice can be a challenge if you’re not used to it. So, we suggest having some yoga experience. Students are encouraged to modify any poses on their own. You also have the option of using the silent space to guide your own practice. If you take that option, please take a mat space in the back of the room.

*Some yoga experience recommended*

Winter Solstice Sacred Circle with Gayla Downey

Friday, December 20th: 6:30pm - 7:45pm

Please join Gayla to celebrate the Winter Solstice on Friday, December 20th at 6:30 PM. It is the celebration of the shortest day of the year, midwinter, and the return of the Sun. You are deep in the heart of the darkest night. The world is hushed. Turn inward and listen to the stories of your deepest self.

The winter solstice itself is on the 21st at 3:19 AM and marks the beginning of Yule. This pop-up will include a meditation, journaling, and a releasing ritual. Then we will light a candle to celebrate the Sun as it begins to return to us and all that we are grateful for, while we enjoy a cup of tea.

This event does not include a yoga practice. No experience is needed.
